On a September evening in 2014, a young Black woman named Amina Muhammad, aged 26, was standing and talking with a friend in the street on the 2600 block of N. 50th Street in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It was around 9:00 p.m. when a car, described by witnesses as a green or black 4-door Pontiac Grand Am or Grand Prix from the 1990s, was seen driving northbound on the street. The vehicle then stopped alongside Amina and her companion.
