Logan Hinrichs, a 14-year-old White male, died on Sunday, December 14, 2014, in Maiden Rock, Wisconsin. An eighth-grader from Red Wing, he was found with a gunshot wound. Initially, it was thought his death may have been the result of a hunting accident.
However, authorities later determined that Logan had taken his own life. The Pierce County Chief Deputy confirmed the cause of death. Following the tragic event, the Red Wing Schools Superintendent sent an alert to students to inform them of the loss. There is no information from online sources to suggest any arrests were made or that any suspects were ever considered, as authorities concluded the wound was self-inflicted.
Logan was remembered as a kindhearted, polite, and respectful young man who was loyal to his friends and family. He had a passion for math and science with aspirations of becoming a marine biologist. His interests were varied, from music spanning Johnny Cash to Green Day, to being an avid Green Bay Packers fan. He enjoyed outdoor activities like hunting, camping, and boating, as well as playing Xbox, where he was considered a Minecraft expert. He was a proud big brother to his two sisters and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
