On the evening of March 25, 2016, James Joseph Norris, a 37-year-old Caucasian male, was working, delivering food in Racine, Wisconsin. In what was later described as a senseless act of violence, Norris was shot and killed during what appeared to be an armed robbery while on the job. The incident cut short the life of a man known as a dedicated family man who treasured time with his children.
The investigation into the homicide led police to a suspect, Alex Adams, who was 28 years old at
the time. Authorities charged Adams with first-degree intentional homicide and armed robbery in connection with Norris's death. Evidence in the case reportedly included surveillance video showing Adams purchasing the specific type of ammunition, hollow-point bullets, that were used in the shooting from a local Walmart.
The aftermath of the tragedy left his family, including his wife Stacy Blevins and his children, devastated. Blevins later became an advocate, speaking out about the accessibility of the ammunition that was used to kill her husband. The community mourned the loss of Norris, remembering him as a good man with a good heart who was simply doing his job when his life was violently taken.
