Logan Corey Foster, a 30-year-old Caucasian male, was found deceased in a gravel parking lot in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, on the morning of September 23, 2017. A passerby discovered his body around 7:40 a.m. near the intersection of Forest Avenue and Brooke Street. First responders arrived to find that Foster had sustained bodily injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by the county medical examiner.
Investigators quickly deemed his death suspicious and began treating it as a homicide.
The investigation into Foster's death centered on the area around the Press Box Tavern, located at 260 Forest Avenue, directly across the street from where his body was found. Police believed that the events leading to his death occurred in that vicinity during the late hours of September 22nd or the early morning of September 23rd. As the investigation progressed, the Fond du Lac Police Department sought public assistance in identifying two individuals they believed were connected to the homicide and released photographs of the persons of interest.
Ultimately, the investigation led to the arrests of two suspects, Devon Neuman and Jesse Schultz. In 2021, Jesse Schultz reached a plea agreement and was sentenced to 32 years in prison for his role in Logan Foster's death. The following year, Devon Neuman was convicted of the homicide and sentenced to life in prison. Neuman will be eligible for parole after serving 31 years. His subsequent appeal of the conviction was denied.
