In the early evening of November 27, 2019, a burst of violence shattered the ordinary atmosphere of a University Boulevard shopping center in Mobile, Alabama. Twenty-one-year-old Andre 'Dre-Dre' Gable Jr., a Black male, was struck in the chest by a bullet. The incident occurred at approximately 6:54 p.m., a time when many would have been going about their daily routines, now tragically interrupted by gunfire.
First responders arrived at 1956 University Boulevard to find the young man
gravely wounded. Emergency medical personnel rendered aid at the scene before rushing him to a nearby hospital. Despite their efforts, Andre Gable succumbed to his single gunshot wound, his life cut short. His death was officially recorded on November 27, 2019.
The Mobile Police Department launched an investigation into the homicide that led them to identify a suspect. Their attention focused on 16-year-old Jimaurice Pierce. In a significant development, Pierce turned himself in to authorities on Tuesday, December 3, 2019. He was subsequently charged with murder in connection with the fatal shooting of Andre Gable. An obituary for Gable was published in early December, announcing funeral services to be held at Christ Temple Church.
