Cashmiere A.S. Hill, an 18-year-old from Appleton, Wisconsin, died on November 5, 2017, after a fatal shooting incident in Oshkosh. The events leading to his death began with an attempted robbery. Hill, along with two accomplices, planned to rob Nicholas J. Davis, a 25-year-old resident of Oshkosh, who had recently flaunted his casino winnings on social media. Hill and his accomplices, Tory E. Summers and Stephon D.
Harris, targeted Davis's home on Waugoo Avenue.
On the night of the incident, Hill and Harris initially broke into Davis's home by throwing a brick through a window. Hill, armed with a gun, demanded money from Davis. Davis managed to push Hill out of the house and lock the door. Davis then ran to a neighbor's house to report the break-in, but neither he nor his neighbor called the police. Hill and Harris retreated to their vehicle, where they met Summers, who had orchestrated the robbery. Summers decided to take Hill back to Davis's house while Harris and the other accomplice left.
Upon returning to the house, Hill broke in again, and a confrontation ensued. Davis, who had armed himself with a. 22-caliber handgun, exchanged gunfire with Hill. Hill was fatally shot during this exchange, while Davis sustained a gunshot wound to his arm. The police later identified Hill as the deceased and arrested Summers and Harris. Summers faced charges of felony murder as a party to a crime, while both Summers and Harris were charged with being parties to crimes of armed robbery and armed burglary.
