On a cold February morning in 2020, the life of 27-year-old Brittany N. McAdory was tragically cut short. In the early hours of February 10th, she and another woman, Seairaha Winchester, were discovered unresponsive at an intersection in Janesville, Wisconsin. Both women had sustained gunshot wounds and were bleeding. They were rushed to a nearby hospital where they were pronounced dead.
The investigation into the double homicide led police to review surveillance footage from a local gas
station, which showed the two women in McAdory's black Jeep Cherokee at approximately 2 a.m. Evidence suggested that McAdory and Winchester had plans to meet with the suspect later that morning. Following the shooting, McAdory's vehicle was found abandoned in Justice, Illinois.
The primary suspect in the case was identified as Marcus Randle El, a former football player for the University of Wisconsin. Five days after the discovery of the women's bodies, Randle El turned himself in to the police in Chicago and was subsequently extradited to Wisconsin. He was charged with two counts of first-degree intentional homicide.
After a six-day jury trial in January 2023, Marcus Randle El was found guilty on all four charges he faced in connection with the murders of Brittany McAdory and Seairaha Winchester. The verdict brought a sense of relief to the families of the victims who had awaited justice for nearly three years.
