by his siblings and a fun-loving athlete, his sudden death sent shockwaves through his family and the community. His mother, Tehesha Williams, described the immense pain of losing her son, stating, "They took a piece of me away and I'll probably never be the same." In the immediate aftermath of the shooting, friends reportedly drove Jovan to a nearby hospital, but tragically left him in the parking lot before leaving the scene.
The Madison Police Department launched an investigation into the homicide, but as of the initial reports, no arrests had been made.
