In Kaukauna, Wisconsin, a young woman's life was tragically cut short in the spring of 2022. Alicia Rain Hoffman, a 24-year-old Caucasian female, was found deceased in her home on April 5, 2022. Her death was the result of a gunshot wound in what law enforcement later described as a murder-suicide.

Authorities were called to a residence in the 300 block of W. 10th Street for a welfare check after family members were unable to make contact. Inside the home, officers discovered the bodies of Alicia and 19-year-old Anthony Vance. Investigators determined that Vance and Hoffman, who were in a relationship and lived together at the residence, had both died from gunshot wounds.

Based on evidence from the scene and autopsy reports, police concluded that Alicia Hoffman was the victim of a homicide, having been shot by Vance. Anthony Vance's death was ruled a suicide, resulting from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The investigation into the circumstances that led to the tragic event continued, but authorities identified Vance as the sole suspect in Hoffman's death.
