Christopher Bugembe, a 37-year-old resident of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, tragically lost his life on July 22, 2022. He was fatally shot in a north side shooting incident that also claimed the life of Valentino I. Stokes, 41. The shooting occurred around 12:45 a.m. near Fond Du Lac Avenue and Vance Place. Both men were found with serious injuries and were transported to the hospital, where they later succumbed to their injuries.
Christopher Bugembe had recently moved to Dallas with four of
his children and his partner, hoping to start afresh and escape the challenges he faced in Milwaukee. His family remembered him as a loving father and a charismatic individual who had turned his life around after a prison sentence in 2017. Despite his efforts to build a better future for his children, his life was cut short during a visit to his hometown.
The Milwaukee Police Department has been investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting, but as of now, no arrests have been made. The police have urged anyone with information to come forward, offering a reward for tips that could lead to an arrest. The lack of progress in the investigation has left Bugembe's family struggling with the injustice of his death and the fear that it might become another unsolved case amid the city's rising gun violence.
