On a late Saturday night in Milwaukee, the life of 31-year-old Hispanic male, Pedro Francisco García Sierra, was tragically cut short in what police have described as a road rage incident. The fatal encounter unfolded around 11:30 p.m. on August 20, 2022, near the intersection of S. 19th and W. Mitchell Streets on the city's south side. García was fatally shot and died at the scene.
Family members remember García as a loving husband, a hardworking man, and a devoted father to his
young daughter, who was four years old at the time of his death. His brother-in-law described him as a man who avoided trouble and had no known enemies, leaving his family baffled and heartbroken by the senseless violence that took his life. His sisters expressed that the deepest loss would be felt by his young daughter. The family hoped for justice and for García's parents to be able to travel from Mexico for his funeral.
In the wake of the shooting, the Milwaukee Police Department investigated the incident as a homicide stemming from road rage. Shortly after the event, a 28-year-old male suspect was arrested in connection with García's death. The case was set to be reviewed by the district attorney for pending homicide charges. While an arrest was made, the police did not publicly release the suspect's name at the time.
