Ron Cramer, the longtime sheriff of Eau Claire County, Wisconsin, passed away unexpectedly on September 13, 2022, at the age of 68. Cramer, who had served as sheriff since 1996, was found deceased by two county employees along the Eau Claire River in the town of Seymour. The Eau Claire Police Department conducted an investigation and determined that Cramer died by suicide as a result of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
