In the early autumn of 2022, a senseless act of violence cut short the life of Kenleon Wherry, a 46-year-old Black man from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. On Saturday, October 1st, Wherry was fatally shot near the intersection of Hopkins Street and Villard Avenue. The specific location of the tragic incident was later identified as 4105 W. Villard Ave. His death was promptly classified as a homicide, adding to the city's growing count of lives lost to gun violence that year.
