On the evening of Friday, September 9, 1977, a 29-year-old White male named Larry Frost was on duty as a Tacoma Police Officer. He and another officer responded to a report of vandalism at the Food King located at 3510 South 56th Street, where a brick had been thrown through a window. While his partner spoke with store personnel, Officer Frost began to search the surrounding area for the suspect.
