In the early morning hours of December 2, 2006, a violent encounter in a White Center home claimed the life of 46-year-old Steven Cox, a dedicated White / Caucasian King County Sheriff's Deputy. The male officer, a nine-year veteran of the force, was well-regarded in the community he served, known for his personal connection with local residents and merchants.
