On what was supposed to be a day of celebration, his 22nd birthday, Christian Guerra, a young Hispanic man, lost his life in a senseless act of violence in the early morning hours of January 18, 2015, in Moses Lake, Washington. The fatal encounter began around 1:30 a.m. at a Jack in the Box drive-thru. Christian was a passenger in a 2010 Ford Fusion when a black 2001 Yukon, driven by 34-year-old Martha Mejia, nearly backed into their vehicle.
