In the winter of 2015, on the evening of Thursday, January 29th, a burst of violence shattered the night in Yakima, Washington. Elidoro Navarro, a 25-year-old Hispanic/Latino male, was near the intersection of South 7th Street and Pine Street when a dark-colored sedan drove by. Multiple gunshots were fired from the vehicle, striking Navarro. He died at the scene. His death marked the first homicide within the city limits of Yakima that year and the second in the broader Yakima County.
