On a summer evening in Seattle, Washington, on July 9, 2017, the life of 32-year-old Shamar Curry, a Black/African American male, was tragically cut short. He was at the Rainier Playfield when a drive-by shooting occurred. In the aftermath, Curry was discovered in the street, having sustained a gunshot wound to his torso.
