In the late summer of 2018, the community of Quincy, Washington, was shaken by the death of 39-year-old Hispanic/Latino male, Billy Joe Cruz. On the morning of August 23rd, Cruz's body was discovered in the 700 block of Central Avenue South, leading to an immediate investigation by the Quincy Police Department. Investigators believe the tragic event was connected to a report of shots fired the previous night, at approximately 10:40 p.m., in the 1200 block of Central Avenue South.
