In the late summer of 2018, the life of 34-year-old Jessica Shaunti Jackson, a Black female and single mother, came to a tragic and violent end. Her body was discovered on September 13, 2018, in a wooded area on the grounds of Joint Base Lewis-McChord near Spanaway, Washington. An autopsy would later reveal the horrific nature of her death, determining that she had suffered from multiple gunshot wounds and blunt force trauma to her head.
