On a late summer night in Tacoma, Washington, the sound of gunfire shattered the quiet near East 38th Street and East Roosevelt Avenue. When the chaos subsided, five people had been shot, and the life of 26-year-old Antoine Jamir Holmes, a Black / African American male from nearby University Place, had been tragically cut short.
