In the early hours of a January morning in 2021, a sequence of events unfolded that would end the life of 21-year-old Autumn Young. A woman who grew up in Portland and had family in Montana, her path tragically crossed with that of Bryson Morgan. The two had only recently met before their final and fatal encounter.
On January 14, 2021, Autumn Young was found shot to death near Seward Park in Seattle. Her body had been left stripped naked.
The investigation into her death quickly led to a suspect. Around 4 a.m. that same day, police on Capitol Hill came across a blood-splattered car. Inside, they found Bryson Morgan, along with a 9mm handgun, two fired rounds, and a live bullet. Also in the vehicle were women's clothing and shoes, and a significant quantity of drugs. The blood on his hands and in the car tied him directly to the scene at Seward Park.
Bryson Morgan was arrested and subsequently charged with the first-degree murder of Autumn Young. During the legal proceedings, it was revealed that Morgan had previous encounters with law enforcement. Despite a past acquittal for making threats, the evidence in this case was substantial. In February 2024, a jury found Bryson Morgan guilty of the murder of Autumn Young. He was later sentenced to 30 years in prison for the crime.
