In the summer of 2021, on a late July evening in Seattle, Washington, the life of 28-year-old Darereon Newton was tragically cut short. A Black/African American male, Newton became the victim of a fatal drive-by shooting on July 25th. The King County Medical Examiner's Office would later confirm that he died from a gunshot wound and classified his death as a homicide.
