In the late summer of 2021, a dispute over a home renovation project in Spanaway, Washington, escalated into a fatal encounter. Scott Odell Howard, a 51-year-old White / Caucasian male, was shot and killed on August 28, 2021. Howard, a tile contractor from Graham, had been working on a project at a residence in the 1800 block of 150th St. S. in Spanaway for about a week.
