On the evening of November 23, 2022, a 36-year-old Hispanic male from Grandview, Washington, Armando Jimenez Cruz, was found deceased in the driver's seat of his car. The vehicle had crashed near the intersection of Old Prosser Road and Mountainview Road, just south of Grandview. Initially, the scene appeared to be a fatal car accident.
However, upon further investigation by the Yakima County Sheriff's Office, it was discovered that the crash was not what caused his death.
Detectives determined that Jimenez Cruz had been shot before his car collided with a pole. This finding shifted the focus of the investigation from a traffic accident to a homicide.
The Yakima County Sheriff's Office has since been investigating the death of Armando Jimenez Cruz as a homicide and has reached out to the public for assistance. Authorities have urged anyone who may have seen anything unusual in the area on the evening of November 23rd, or who may have any information regarding the shooting, to come forward.
