Katherine "Kathy" Netherland, a 48-year-old special education teacher from Bardstown, Kentucky, was tragically murdered on April 22, 2014, along with her 16-year-old daughter, Samantha. Their bodies were discovered by Kathy's father after she failed to show up for work at Bardstown Elementary School. Kathy had been shot multiple times, and Samantha had been bludgeoned in the head. Both victims also sustained knife wounds to their necks.
