In the early morning hours of December 27, 2014, a verbal dispute between neighbors in Russell Springs, Kentucky, ended in the tragic death of 34-year-old Jason Adam Willis. The incident occurred at Willis's residence on Kentucky Highway 92. Following the argument, his 19-year-old neighbor, Trevor Robertson, is said to have retrieved a shotgun from his home and shot Willis in the upper torso.
Jason Willis was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities quickly identified Robertson as the suspect and he was arrested and charged with murder. He was subsequently lodged in the Russell County jail as the investigation continued.
Jason Adam Willis was born on July 21, 1980, in Adair County and worked as an ironworker for Branscum Construction Company. He was a member of the Solid Rock Full Gospel Church. His death left behind a large family, including his wife, Dena Ann Willis, his mother, Bernice Bennett Willis, eleven children, and several grandchildren and siblings. Funeral services were held on January 4, 2015, at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel in Russell Springs.
