In the late summer of 2015, a young man's life was tragically cut short in Murray, Kentucky. Jamel Ahmed Al-Shubili, an 18-year-old male of Middle Eastern/Arab descent, was fatally shot on the evening of September 9, 2015. A recent graduate of Mayfield High School, where he had served as class president, Al-Shubili had plans to transfer to Murray State University to study photojournalism. Friends remembered him as a positive and dedicated student who could brighten anyone's day.
