In the summer of 2016, a retired coal miner named Henry Michael Hurt, a 47-year-old White male, lost his life in a violent encounter within his own home in Jackson, Kentucky. On the evening of June 26th, authorities in Breathitt County were alerted to a shooting after two individuals with gunshot wounds arrived at a local emergency room. When Kentucky State Police responded to the residence, they discovered a grim scene.
