James Prater, aged 41, passed away on September 28, 2019, in Jackson, Kentucky. His death was the result of a tragic incident involving his father, Dial Prater. On the day of the incident, Breathitt County Sheriff John Hollon was patrolling when he was flagged down by a pickup truck. Inside the truck, James Prater informed the sheriff that he had been shot. Sheriff Hollon immediately transported James to the hospital, but unfortunately, James succumbed to his injuries.
