In the summer of 2016, a grim discovery began to unfold in Shepherdsville, Kentucky, with the death of 51-year-old Melissa Ann Thompson. On July 20th, emergency services responded to a fire at her home on Audubon Drive. Inside the burning residence, authorities found Thompson's body. An autopsy would later reveal that she had been shot, turning a fire investigation into a homicide case.
