In the autumn of 2016, a tragedy unfolded on a farm in Carroll County, Kentucky, leaving a family and community in shock. On Friday, October 7, 2016, 47-year-old Andy Dale McKinney, a male resident of Owenton, was found dead from a gunshot wound. The incident occurred at Double H Farms, a business located just east of Carrollton.
Alongside Andy McKinney, authorities also discovered the body of 45-year-old Kerry McKinney. She too had sustained a fatal gunshot wound.
The Kentucky State Police were called to the scene to investigate the double fatality that afternoon.
In the immediate aftermath of the discovery, law enforcement officials began their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the two deaths. While they confirmed that both individuals had died as a result of gunshots, they did not immediately release further details about the events that transpired at the farm.
State police officials stated that they had not made any arrests in connection with the deaths. In their initial statements to the public, they also indicated that they were not actively searching for any suspects and did not believe there was an ongoing threat to the community.
