In the quiet community of Spottsville, Kentucky, a distressing event unfolded in the spring of 2017, culminating in the death of Marla Gay Buley. A 47-year-old Caucasian woman, Marla was a mother and grandmother whose life was abruptly cut short.

On March 31, 2017, the Henderson County Sheriff's Office responded to a call that led them to a residence in Spottsville. Inside, they discovered the bodies of Marla Buley and a man. Both individuals had sustained fatal gunshot wounds.
