In the fading light of a November evening in Winchester, Kentucky, 16-year-old Kayla Holland’s life was tragically cut short. On November 7, 2017, the George Rogers Clark High School student was with her friend, Adrianna Castro, also 16, visiting friends at the Washington Street Apartments. What began as a social visit soon turned into a scene of chaos and violence when a gunfight erupted in the parking lot, and the two teenage girls were caught in the crossfire.
