In the small community of Hudson, Kentucky, a domestic dispute on a cold December night in 2017 turned deadly, claiming the life of 60-year-old Donny Peek. A resident of Westview, Peek was at the Centerview-Rough River Lane home of his girlfriend, Theresa Moore, on the evening of December 19th. The situation escalated dramatically with the arrival of Theresa's estranged husband, Jeffrey Moore.
An argument that began inside the residence spilled out into the driveway, where a physical altercation erupted between Donny Peek and Jeffrey Moore. In the ensuing chaos, Peek reportedly drew a firearm and shot Moore. At that moment, Theresa Moore's 28-year-old son, Jonathan Masterson, who was also present, attempted to intervene and help Jeffrey Moore. It was then alleged that Peek fired a shot at Masterson. In response, Masterson produced his own gun and fired multiple times at Peek.
When Kentucky State Police arrived at the scene shortly after midnight, they discovered both Donny Peek and 55-year-old Jeffrey Moore deceased in the driveway from gunshot wounds. In the immediate aftermath of the double fatality, no criminal charges were filed against Jonathan Masterson.
