On a cold Tuesday morning in January, the community of Benton, Kentucky, was irrevocably shattered by a senseless act of violence that claimed the life of 15-year-old Preston Ryan Cope. It was January 23, 2018, when a fellow student, also 15, opened fire in the commons area of Marshall County High School as students were gathering before the start of the school day.
