On a summer morning in Glasgow, Kentucky, the community was shaken by the discovery of a local man's body on the side of Lick Branch Road. Kevin Mike Michael Miller, a 40-year-old White male, was found deceased on July 8, 2018, having sustained a fatal gunshot wound. A passing motorist made the grim discovery and immediately contacted the authorities.
The Barren County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene and, upon observing Miller's apparent gunshot injury, requested the assistance of the Kentucky State Police.
Investigators soon pieced together the events that led to Miller's untimely death. Their preliminary investigation revealed that Miller, a farm manager originally from Bowling Green, had been involved in a roadside altercation with 52-year-old Bobby R. Conatser of Glasgow. The confrontation escalated tragically, culminating in Conatser discharging a shotgun, which struck Miller in the back. The wound proved to be fatal, leaving Miller on the rural road where he was later found.
Following the investigation, authorities swiftly identified Bobby R. Conatser as the primary suspect. He was arrested and charged with the murder of Kevin Miller. Conatser was subsequently lodged in the Barren County Jail. The case proceeded through the legal system, and in December 2021, Conatser pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of second-degree manslaughter. Testimonies during the legal proceedings suggested the conflict was rooted in a volatile relationship between Miller and Conatser's adult daughter. In January 2022, Conatser was sentenced for his role in the death of Kevin Mike Michael Miller.
