In the quiet town of Wingo, Kentucky, the life of 51-year-old Rhonda Laws came to a tragic end on Friday, October 5, 2018. On that day, deputies from the Graves County Sheriff's Office were called to her residence, where they discovered a heartbreaking scene. Rhonda and her husband, 54-year-old Mitchell Laws, were both found deceased inside their home.
Subsequent investigation by the Graves County Sheriff's Office, with assistance from the Graves County Coroner's office and Kentucky
State Police, revealed the grim reality of what had transpired. Autopsies performed in Louisville confirmed the investigators' initial assessment: the deaths were the result of a murder-suicide. It was determined that both Rhonda and Mitchell Laws died from single gunshot wounds.
Rhonda was known as a painter, homemaker, and business manager. The couple is survived by their two sons. Memorial services for both Rhonda and Mitchell were held the following week as the community grappled with the sudden and tragic loss.
