In the late summer of 1976, a teenage boy's life was tragically cut short in the small town of Northfield, Minnesota. Wayne Richard Stickley, a 16-year-old White male, was working at a local gasoline station on the evening of August 10, 1976. He was a young man with a future ahead of him, a student who would have been part of the Northfield High School graduating class of 1977. His parents, Ross and Virginia Stickley, were well-known residents of the community.
