In the quiet community of Grand Rivers, Kentucky, the life of January Gail Stone, a 38-year-old White/Caucasian woman, was tragically cut short on December 21, 2018. Known for her Christian faith, she was the manager at a local Minit Mart. On that day, she was found deceased at a residence on Stringtown Road, the victim of a violent crime that also claimed the lives of two other individuals, Robert G. Belt Jr., 28, and Johnny G.
Mallory, 49.
The investigation into the triple homicide revealed that all three victims had died from gunshot wounds. The grim discovery sent shockwaves through the small town as residents mourned the loss of three of their own. The Kentucky State Police, with assistance from the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office and the Livingston County Coroner’s Office, launched a thorough investigation into the killings. The autopsies, which confirmed the cause of death for each victim, were conducted by the State Medical Examiner's Office in Louisville.
The investigation led to the arrest of 29-year-old Jackie Clint Doom, a resident of Grand Rivers. He was subsequently charged with three counts of murder in connection with the deaths of Stone, Belt, and Mallory. In September 2020, Doom pleaded guilty to the murders and was sentenced to life in prison. During his sentencing in Livingston County Circuit Court, he expressed remorse for his actions, bringing a legal conclusion to a case that had deeply affected the community.
