In the summer of 2020, the life of 30-year-old Rodney Meade was tragically cut short in Lancaster, Kentucky. On Friday, July 24, 2020, Meade was killed in a shooting incident in the Garrard County city. Born on May 28, 1990, in Martin, Kentucky, he was a resident of Lancaster at the time of his death.
Following the fatal shooting, an investigation was launched, which quickly led to an arrest. A Lancaster man was taken into custody and charged with the murder of Rodney Meade.

Rodney was the son of Randall Meade of Lancaster and Vickie Greer Hall of Printer, Kentucky. His family, including a brother, two half-sisters, and several nieces and nephews, were left to mourn his sudden and violent passing. Funeral services were held in both Lancaster and his native Floyd County, where he was laid to rest in the Jeff Hunter Cemetery in Printer, Kentucky.
