In the summer of 2021, a violent altercation in Garrard County, Kentucky, led to the tragic death of 34-year-old Dustin Todd Privett of Danville. On the evening of Saturday, July 3rd, law enforcement and emergency services were dispatched to Bryant's Camp Road near the Dix River following reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered Mr. Privett, who had sustained a fatal gunshot wound.
Investigators believe that a fight preceded the deadly shooting.
The Kentucky State Police, in conjunction with the Garrard County Police Department, quickly began an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident. Their inquiries led them to a suspect in the case.
Justin Parson, a 23-year-old man, was arrested and charged with murder in connection with Dustin Privett's death. Following his arrest, Parson was lodged in the Jessamine County jail. An autopsy was scheduled to be performed at the State Medical Examiner's Office in Louisville to officially determine the cause of death. The case remains under the investigation of the Kentucky State Police.
