In the quiet community of Brooksville, Kentucky, a tragic event unfolded on August 31, 2020, ending the life of 18-year-old Austin McElfresh. The young man's death was the result of a violent encounter that has been characterized by law enforcement as a murder-suicide.
The incident took place at a gas station in Bracken County. According to investigators, McElfresh was in a vehicle with a woman when they were approached by 22-year-old Gregory Biffle. Biffle then fired several shots into the vehicle, fatally wounding McElfresh who was in the passenger seat.
After shooting McElfresh, Biffle turned the gun on himself, ending his own life. The female occupant of the vehicle was not physically harmed during the incident. Kentucky State Police are investigating the case as a murder-suicide.
