Octavius Dontrell Lamb, a 20-year-old male, was the first homicide victim recorded in Chicago in 2013. The incident occurred less than four hours into the new year on January 1, 2013, in the West Town neighborhood. Lamb was shot in the throat in the early morning hours near the 700 block of North Noble Street, and he was pronounced dead shortly after at 4:16 a.m. at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
