In the early morning hours of the Fourth of July, 2021, the life of 27-year-old Shaquille Louis Newby was tragically cut short in Lexington, Kentucky. A Black male, Newby was discovered in the front passenger seat of a Toyota Camry in the 2500 block of Danielle Lane, the victim of a fatal gunshot wound. The initial call to authorities around 1:20 a.m. was for a possible medical emergency, but upon arrival, officers found a grim scene.
