In the late summer of 2021, the body of 20-year-old Regginald Dawayne Johnson, a male resident of Lexington, was discovered in a wooded area off Sinking Creek Road in Laurel County, Kentucky. A passerby happened upon the scene and immediately contacted authorities, leading to the launch of a murder investigation by the Laurel County Sheriff's Office.
