In the early afternoon of a September day in Lexington, Kentucky, a distressing call came into the 911 dispatch center. On the other end of the line was a man who had been shot. Tony Demetrius Lyvers, a 41-year-old male, had the presence of mind to seek help for himself after the violent encounter. The incident unfolded on Chestnut Street, where responding officers found Lyvers outside a residence with a gunshot wound.
