In the late evening of August 3, 2022, the community of Cumberland, Kentucky, was disturbed by the sound of gunfire. At approximately 10:50 p.m., the Kentucky State Police received a 911 call reporting that shots had been fired on Babs Arbor. When officers from the Cumberland Police Department and state troopers arrived at the scene, they discovered the body of 36-year-old Brandon Saylor. He had sustained a single gunshot wound to his back and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Deputy Coroner.
Brandon Lee Saylor, born on October 14, 1985, in Harlan, was a local handyman. His sudden and violent death prompted an immediate investigation by detectives from the Kentucky State Police, Post 10. As investigators began to piece together the events of that night, they were able to gather evidence that led them to two individuals.
Following the collection of evidence, authorities arrested two men, Mark Bowling and Dylan Blair, in connection with the shooting. Both men were charged with murder and subsequently lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center. The case remains under investigation by the Kentucky State Police to ensure all aspects of the incident are thoroughly examined.
