In the small community of Blair in Harlan County, Kentucky, the life of 56-year-old Teddy Jackson came to a sudden and tragic end on the evening of Wednesday, August 26, 2015. He was discovered in his residence with a fatal shotgun wound.
The circumstances surrounding his death led to a swift investigation by the Kentucky State Police. The investigation pointed authorities to a suspect within his own family.
The following day, law enforcement officials took his 14-year-old grandson into custody in connection with the shooting. The teenager was subsequently charged with reckless homicide, tampering with physical evidence, and first-degree wanton endangerment. Following the charges, the young man was transported to the Breathitt County juvenile detention center. An autopsy was scheduled to be performed by the state medical examiner's office to officially determine the cause of death.
