On what should have been a joyous celebration, the life of 21-year-old Samuel Sam Witherspoon, a Black/African American male, was tragically cut short on March 28, 1994. The evening was meant to honor his 21st birthday at a house party in Duluth, Minnesota, but it descended into a scene of unimaginable violence that would also claim the lives of his two best friends, Peter Moore, 21, and Keith Hermanson, 20.
